Dirty air filter and very old about 30+ years but still usable

Remove the top of the air cleaner cover with a screwdriver and clean it. Then put some oil in a plastic bag with the new filter and work the oil into the filter. Remove the filter from the bag and press the excess oil in to a clean rag or paper towels. Then put the new filter in the air cleaner and screw on the top.
