Inner winding spring kept coming apart. The plastic anchor that holds the spring was worn and the spring kept coming apart.

Simply removed the plastic motor cover held by torque spitz screws. Remove the rewind starter by removing the small hex head bolts. Swap out the old rewind starter with the new one and reassemble.
The new part did not come with the lead stop crimped on the starter rope. Had to remove the old one and recrimp it back onto the new sta rter rope.

A flimsey nylon sub-assembly part broke. This is the second time I hade to buy a $40 complete assembly to fix a $2 failure.

1.Removed the metal cowling. Held in place by three T-25 torx screws.
2. Removed the starter/rewind unit as a whole. Held in place by three or four T-25 torx.
