unscrewed and discarded broken assembly
new assembly came complete with base and attachment screw and washers
screwed assembly to bottom of skillet
15 minutes later used skillet to prepare dinner
Used a screwdriver to attempt to unscrew the screw, but it was so rusted on that nut buster was used, several applications were needed. It still would not budge, so more nut buster and finally a vice grip was used to break it loose.
Then the piece was cleaned up and the new assembly was easily attached.
