This replacement carbon brush is an authentic item. It is specially manufactured for DeWalt drills. Carbon brushes are a commonly replaced part on power tools. Due to normal use and friction brushes will gradually wear down and will require replacement. It is advised to replace both brushes at the same type. This assembly includes one (1) carbon brush with a lead wire attached. Please note, the brush holder is sold separately. Replacing this carbon brush is a simple task that should only require a screwdriver. • Make sure the unit is unplugged • First remove housing screws • Remove the housing • Take out the old brush • Secure the new brush in place • Reassemble and test the tool
