At first I thought it was totaled, but I like to tinker, the edger is 50 years old. I pounded on the wheel to try to get it round again, and found a axle bolt to replace the bent one, it looks pretty bad but it does roll, then I started to remove the hoses and linkage to the carb. The carb actually looked ok, but a part called a carbureto
... Read morer insulator, was broken and the screws that held it to the engine were bent, I had previously pulled the rope to see if it had compression which it did so assumed the engine had no cracks in it. The only part that I could visibly see broken was the carburetor insulator. So I set out to look for parts, because of it\'s age I thought it would be impossible to find, but to my surprise several parts houses listed and showed parts to replace what I needed, The parts were more than I wanted to pay but I did so anyway. They even had the exact duplicate wheel, which I may replace at a later date, it took awhile to get because the parts had to come from the manufacturer about 30 days, I checked at first to make sure they were right, and they were, so then I started to put it back together, those small carbs and linkages are a pain to work on but I did it, and it appeared to be right, connected up the air hoses, and pulled the rope, I didn\'t give it much hope, but with a squirt of ether, it came to life, and never ran so good before. I was extremely happy. It was worth my time and expense and I thank replacement parts for finding the parts I needed. One reason it still runs is because I never used ethanol fuel, that stuff is so terrible on aluminum and carb parts that if you use it you need a need a new carb every season, never use ethanol fuel in small engines it\'s death to them.
