This is an authentic replacement part which is manufactured for use with Tanaka handheld outdoor power equipment. The clutch along with the clutch drum allow a machine to idle without moving the drive shaft. When the throttle is engaged the clutch expands into the clutch drum which turns the drive shaft. If the clutch spring fails the clutch will not engage the drum and driveshaft, so the engine will run, but the machine will not move. To ensure the correct repair procedure, check the diagrams for your model. Keep in mind this high-quality spring-clutch is made of durable metal and is sold as an individual item.
