This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with lawn edgers. The ignition coil is used to create an electric charge when the magnet on the flywheel passes the coil. The ignition coil sends the electric charge to the spark plug that creates an electric arc to ignite the fuel in the cylinder. If the ignition coil fails the engine will not likely be able to start. This ignition coil is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
