Removed the blade, shroud, gear case cover and spindle and gear.. There was no contact between the gears in the gear case. Followed the trouble shooting guide from E replacement parts. Primary problem was the spindle and gear assembly being worn and I decided to replace the gear case cover as long as I was replacing the spindle and gear.
... Read morePut new gear grease in the gear case, inserted the new spindle and gear assembly and checked for mesh and contact. Replaced gear case cover and re-assembled the trimmer shroud and blade. Runs like a Swiss watch. Very Happy!!!!!
