1. Unplug
2. lifted top (hinges like a door) then removed front cover -2 bolts @ bottom, 2 @ the top.
3. I took the time to clean the unit & inspect for other issues ...remove single self tap screw to move vent tube out of the way (I didn\'t have to remove it) looped belt around drum !!!!DO NOT REMOVE DRUM!!!! This particula r model (GE DDE5300GALWH) requires special tools to re-install drum. If you\'re just replacing the belt, it\'s not necessary to remove. Finish with steps reversed.
