This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement anvil assembly. It is designed for Makita impact wrenches. This part is used to secure the bits. Anvil can wear out on both sides, either from inside the drill housing where the hammer mechanism strikes it or from the outside where it meets your bits. Please note, this metal anvil is sold individually. Performing this repair you should only need a screwdriver and a set of wrenches. • Remove the housing barrel • Remove the old anvil • Secure the new assembly in place • Reassemble and test the wrench
