I layed a rag down carfuly removed the snap ring that holds the release collar on. Pull the snap ring then the return spring and the collar off. Than put the two locking balls in and apply some grease to hold them in place. Then just drop the collar and spring on and reseat the snap ring.

Repair went well using the on line exploded diagram.
The snap ring was the hardest part to remove but easy to install.

Removed retaining clip , spring and washer from front of bit sleeve.
Hoped the sleeve would come off, but somehow the ball bearings were jammed in and it would not come out. Took pliers and held bit sleeve. Took angle grinder with cutting wheel and very carefully cut the bit sleeve off the shaft. Go slow, try not hit the shaft below ... Read more . It then came off easily. Trick is then to get the new bearings in with new sleeve, then get the spring, washer and clip back on. Check diagram of machine to see all the parts.
