then cancel, so the drain pump drains as much water as possible from basin.
2. Turn off power to dishwasher at circuit breaker, turn off water at supply.
3. Remove two screws at front bottom panel, remove for front access. ... Read more
4. Remove two screws holding top brackets to bottom of counter top.
5. Slide dishwasher out from under counter, careful to not tear insulation on top and sides,
and taking care not to stress water supply, drain, and electrical connections.
6. If supply, drain, and electrical cords are not long enough, turn off water supply, turn off
breaker, disconnect supply, drain, and electrical connections (I didn\'t need to do this
part).
7. Remove bottom spray bar assembly (the whole thing).
8. Carefully tip washer on its back.
9. Unplug two prong connector from main wash pump motor.
10. Remove two Torx screws from bottom of spring motor retainer.
11. Pull spring motor retainer straight out (it\'s held by a pin in the middle, so when it\'s put
back on, it\'ll have to be flexed over to catch that little pin).
12. Slightly twist motor and pull away from bottom of basin.
13. Clean the sealing surfaces where the old motor sealed, making sure it\'s all clean of
loose dirt and junk.
14. Take new o-rings, large and small, grease with plumber\'s silicone grease, and install
into grooves in new pump.
15. Wipe thin layer of grease on sealing surfaces in bottom of washer basin where the o-
rings will seal. This will just ease the insertion of the new seals.
16. Line the new pump up with the opening, and observe the keyway at the top of the
pump assembly, that will interlock with the slot above the pump opening. That\'s what
keeps the pump from trying to turn in operation.
17. Insert the pump, gently, into the hole. It shouldn\'t take much pressure. If it takes much
force, something is wrong. Stop, figure out what\'s binding. Insert the pump all the way
in, until the flange is completely against the outside of the pump housing.
18. Hold the pump (it\'ll try to fall out) while you get the spring retainer in hand.
19. Slide the spring retainer into its groove in the new pump, and insert the legs into their
respective openings in the basin.
20. Flex the flat, bottom end over the retainer pin to hold it in place. It\'ll take a little force,
but not a whole lot. At this point, everything should stay.
21. Insert two Torx screws through the spring retainer, into the basin to secure it.
21. Identify the two prong connector that plugged into the old pump.
22. Cut the blue and white wires, and strip the insulation approximately 3/8 inch back.
23. Slip one heat shrink tubing over the blue wire from the washer, and one over the white
wire.
24. Insert the blue wire from the washer harness into the connector on the blue wire on the
new harness. Crimp the connector and confirm tight.
25. Insert the white wire from the washer harness into the connector on the white wire on
the new harness. Crimp the connector and confirm tight.
26. Slide the heat shrink tubing over each connector, and heat until it seals. Allow to cool.
27. Plug new blue/white harness connector into the motor until it clicks.
28. Ensure all wiring is clear of any moving parts, and won\'t catch on anything under the
dishwasher.
29. Tip washer back upright.
30. Reconnect water, drain, power, if disconnected, and turn on power and water.
31. Reinstall under counter.
32. Test, check under dishwasher for leakage.
33. Enjoy a QUIET dishwasher again!
