Switches can wear out from normal use and replacing a worn switch is a good way to extend the life of the tool. Some symptoms of a faulty switch are trouble starting, but then running normally after start up, or off and on use until it eventually stops running. The switch is sold individually.

Removed handle and separated, removed switch, unplugged wires, installed new switch and re attached wires from plug and tested switch with volt meter, confirmed voltage passing through switch, connected drill wires to switch and assembled handle, tested drill.
