Need help finding your model number?This item is OEM sourced to ensure quality. The carbon brushes are intended to be used with rotary hammers from Hitachi. The carbon brushes are used to relay electricity to the armature's commutator to cause the armature to rotate inside the field. The brushes make constant contact with the commutator while it rotates and this causes the brushes to wear down after time. Worn down brushes can cause the motor to smoke or spark excessively. These brushes are sold in a set of two.
