The switch cover is made out of plastic. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and used in drills, rotary hammers, and hammer drills made by DeWALT. This item is available as an individual replacement. A screwdriver might be needed during the installation process. It will require replacing if it becomes broken.
