The plastic mount for the fry basket, which raises and lowers the basket into the oil, had broken.
Caked-on and solidified fryer vegetable oil covered the screw which fastens the basket handle to the basket, and so I had to use pliers to break off the plastic. I was then able to see how the new unit was to be fastened, and simply had to tighten the screw of the replacement unit once properly positioned. It\'s as good as new now.
