If the steam valve release cover is damaged, it is very important that it be replaced right away. Without a functioning steam valve release cover it will not form a proper seal and this can be a safety concern when trying to open a pressurized pot. This is the cover only, the steam release valve is sold separately. To replace this part, hold onto the handle and turn the lid clockwise until the arrow and lid unlocked icon are aligned and remove the lid. If you flip the lid over you will find the steam release valve cover underneath the lid, simply pull off and install your new OEM part.
