The armature is the center component of an electric motor that drives the tool. Over time if the tool is overloaded, it may begin to smoke or spark. This is caused by a worn armature insulation, replacing an armature should resolve the issue and prevent further damage to the tool. It is recommended to replace both carbon brushes when replacing an armature, please note this high-quality item is sold individually.
