This part is made of high-quality plastic, and is used to separate the armature and the gear box, and to help hold other parts in place so they don't twist while the drill is in use. When replacing this item, you may require a screwdriver or Allen wrench. It is advisable when removing multiple parts to keep careful track of their order so they can be reassembled correctly.
