Remove the battery. Remove the screws from the housings and separate them carefully, trying to keep all of the parts in one side of one housing half. Take a picture of the drill parts, so you know where they all go. Remove the transmission from the motor and the adjusting collar. Remove the shifter from the old transmission and install it on the new transmission. Install the transmission into the adjusting collar and the motor, making sure the gears line up with each other. Make sure all of the parts are in the correct place and then screw the housings together. Done.
