No special instructions were needed. just had to unscrew the eleven screws which ten were the 10mm star driver. I did not have a 10mm star screwdriver so I went to three stores before I found one. The only other problem I had was one wire had been cut so I had a neighbor whom works on phone systems solder the wire for me due to how short
