The repair was pretty straight forward. I had to remove 5-6 screws and separate the two halves of the broken drill. I then took the mechanism from the old case and transferred it to the new and re-installed the screws. Where I went wrong, was I should have sorted the screws as I removed them, since they were of different length. The extra time was due to trial and error until I got all screws in their proper slot. All else went smoothly.

Removed the screws from the housing and carefully separated them. I took pictures with my phone to show where all the parts belong. I then transferred all of the parts from the old clamshell and put them in the new one. Checked my photographs and it all looked good. Put the battery in, and it worked!

Remove the battery, then remove the screws that hold the housings together. Carefully remove one half of the housing. You may want to take a picture of how the internal parts of the drill are positioned. Remove the motor from the gearbox and attach the new one. Place all the internal parts of the drill in the new housing set, then screw i t back together
