This fiber drag washer is a genuine OEM component which is made for use with Penn fishing reels. The purpose of this part is to provide a tight seal between components of the drag mechanism. If the fish pulls on the line hard enough, the reel will rotate backward, letting the line out and preventing it from breaking. This part is designed to wear out with time and will eventually need to be replaced. Please make sure to refer to the diagrams for your model to ensure the exact location and the correct application. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart when performing this repair. Note, one durable fiber drag washer is included.
