This is an authentic Abu Garcia replacement part manufactured for use with baitcast fishing reels. The special gear is the main drive gear that is actuated by the handle assembly to rotate the spool when reeling in line. This drive gear is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
