This is a clicker spring for various models of fishing reels. This metal spring is used to create a clicking noise while the spool turns to prevent the spool from over-running and twisting. This clicker spring is sold as an individual part and does not include any other hardware or parts with it. This spring can break or get damaged from excessive stress or tension on the reel line, if the reel itself is dropped, through corrosion of saltwater, and simply through age. Replacing this clicker spring is easy and may only require a few tools. First, you will need to remove the side plate of the fishing reel by removing the fastening screws. Locate the spring within the reel housing and remove it. Install the new clicker spring and fasten the side plate of the reel shut.
