Dissembled reel, removed old part, installed new part, reassembled reel, went fishing. Worked perfectly.
Reel was vintage Ambassador 5500C. My Mom bought it for my Dad with S & H Green Stamps 62 years ago.

The pawl wasn\'t working properly allowing the reel to back spin occasionally.

I removed the side plate and disassembled it to get to the pawl. I washed all parts and gave everything a light coat of reel oil before reassembly.

Anti reverse dogs were worn out.

Open up reel
Remove screws and main shaft
Remove nut that holds the rotor.
Replace the dog and anti reverse spring
Reassemble in reverse order of the above.
