This replacement pre-filter element is supplied directly from original manufacturer, It is a genuine part used with Makita power cutters. Its purpose is to provide an extra layer of filtration for the air that enters the carburetor and the engine. This foam filter is sold individually. Please note, the main air filter and the housing pieces are all sold separately. Replacing this pre-filter is a simple task that does not require any tools. • Make sure to disconnect the spark plug • Remove the cover screw/knob • Take off the cover and replace the foam filter • Reassemble and test the unit
