It is an authentic item that is supplied by the original manufacturer for use with air compressors. The inlet filter helps to ensure that the air that goes through the unit is free of dust and other harmful contaminants. After some time it will get clogged and will need to be replaced to ensure a good and clean air flow. Replacing it is a simple task that should not require any tools, simply unscrew the old one and secure the new one. This filter and housing are sold as an individual component.
