Product Description

?

This is an authentic part that is intended to be used with air compressors from Porter Cable, Black & Decker, and Bostitch. This safety valve attaches to the switch box or the manifold, and is used to release air from the tank if the pressure becomes too high inside the tank. If the safety valve goes off it will need to be replaced, because it can not be reused. The safety valve is sold individually.

My compressor will only pump up to 90 lbs. of pressure and continue to run without the increasing the pressure. If you shut it off it will maintain the 90 lbs. of pressure. What part do I need to replace?

IS THE PRESSURE RELIEF ASSEMBLY THE SAME FOR ALL C2002 TYPES?
Louis For model number C2002 TYPE 9 - March 6, 2023

Hello Louis, thank you for asking. We researched the C2002 TYPE 9 and the safety valve is part A17987. For C2002 Type 0 the safety Valve is D20114. So, they are not all the same. We are pleased to have been able to help.

My compressor will fill up but then it will not turn on when the pressure drops. If I unplug it and wait a while it will start up . I'm guessing it's overheating but I don't know why
Mark For model number Btfp020212 - November 8, 2023

Hello Mark, Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds more like an issue with the pressure switch, part# N003307SV. We would also recommend checking the safety valve and manifold. Good luck with your repair.

I followed the repair steps in the video, which was 100% on target - except for one slight omission. Notice in the video, the tech is using long Torx wrenches to remove the three bolts holding the compressor housing together. Without using long wrenches two of the bolts will be impossible to remove.
