I had to replace the crankcase cover after I cracked it by apparently overtightening the oil drain bolt. The bolt was very hard to tighten all the way through, so it was difficult to tell when it was seated. The replacement cover and bolt had the same problem. ... Read more any case, I tightened the new bolt to the new cover reasonably well, but I left some thread showing, since I really didn\'t want it to crack again. So far, I haven\'t seen any leaks.
Dumped oil,removed cracked crankcase cover gasket.replaced with new items,assembled with regular force ,not excessive force. Pleaced all bolts at same time,sealed crankcase,added oil. Good to go.
