How to check if brushes need to br replaced. Compressor will not run. Fires but won't stay running. Just a short burst then stops.
Jordan For model number Dewalt compessor D55168 - May 20, 2023

Hello Jordan, thank you for your question. This is likely to be due to a faulty pressure release A15332 or check valve A19715. Check the Brush for signs as a worn-out brush will often be worn down near to the wire lead and can be cracked, pitted, or burned. We hope this helps.

My compressor takes a long time to reach full pressure . Not like it was when new, although it has seen moderate use only in my home but I think it needs rebuilding. Is there a rebuild kit available for my model? Thank you.
Joseph For model number 919.167621 - March 12, 2022

Hi Joseph, Thank you for your question. If your compressor is not reaching full pressure, you may have a defective check valve. The check valve prevents air from escaping the tank. The part number listed under your model number for the check valve is A19715. If you need help placing an order for it, customer service is open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

After draining all air, I removed all the lines that went to this check valve It was a tight fit for any wrenches in my Devilbiss upright. I then unscrewed the old check valve and compared the two. Replacement part was a perfect match. Old one was very corroded. Compressor was 10 years old. Installed new valve and everything works perfect ly now
