This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Porter Cable air compressors. Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. There are two reasons an air compressor can trip a breaker, electrical and mechanical. Several factors can cause your compressor to pull too much power, so first make sure that that amp rating on the compressor does not exceed the amperage the outlet can handle. Check the safety valve, piston kit with o-rings, the fan and filter kit, and check valve for any visible damage. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Sammie, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the pressure switch, the safety valve, the regulator, the o-rings (which also come with the valve plate kit) and the piston seal. Check for any visible damage and you can test the pressure switch with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter works, we have a video on how to use one.
