My compressor after I turn it on starts but blows circut breaker 20 amp
David For model number 919.165010 - March 20, 2023

Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. There are two reasons an air compressor can trip a breaker, electrical and mechanical. Several factors can cause your compressor to pull too much power, so first make sure that that amp rating on the compressor does not exceed the amperage the outlet can handle. Check the safety valve, piston kit with o-rings, the fan and filter kit, and check valve for any visible damage. Good luck with your repair.

My compressor runs up to 160 psi and does not shut off. The pop off valve seems to work, guessing it is the pressure switch. This just starting having a problem. Never had a problem until last week and suddenly won't shut off. Any thoughts ?
John For model number CFFN250N - November 6, 2023

Hello John, thank you for your question. The issue could be the pressure switch or a faulty Safety Valve TIA-4150. Good luck with your repair.

The compressor used to cut off around 120 psi.Now it goes past that pressure without turning off and I'm afraid to let it go past to see if it will stop and a higher pressor with blowing up. Is there an adjustment that I can do to change this cut off? There two large round black caps that look like they one would adjust the cut-off pressure and the other would control the outlet hose pressure. I can't turn either one. either they are froze or they arn't supposed to turn. Any advice you can give for both of these questions would be appreciated.

My compressor runs fine but doesn't buildup air pressure and I've drained it and placed a bit of oil in the tank to help prevent condensation still no pressure please help
Sammie For model number Craftsman 919-165220 - March 20, 2023

Hello Sammie, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the pressure switch, the safety valve, the regulator, the o-rings (which also come with the valve plate kit) and the piston seal. Check for any visible damage and you can test the pressure switch with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter works, we have a video on how to use one. Good luck with your repair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx74qIn3YB4
