Product Description

?

This is an OEM Craftsman replacement part. The check valve is to be used to air compressors. The valve allows air to pass from the cylinder into the tank while preventing the air in the tank from returning to the cylinder. The check valve is made from high-quality metal. To install, bleed the air out of the system and disconnect all the lines from the check valve. A wrench is necessary for the repair. This part is sold individually.

I made this repair more complicated than it probable needed to be. Apparently air coming out of the unloader valve when the compressor is pressuring up isn\'t usually a sign of a faulty unloader valve. It\'s usually an indication of a bad check valve. It\'s an old compressor so I ended up ordering a check valve and complete pressure switc h. Pretty straight forward repair.
1. Remove all lines attached to the check valve and pressure switch.
2. Remove check valve and replace with new.
3. Remove the plastic housing from the pressure switch and unwire it. Don\'t break any wire terminals like I did. Remove gauge and fittings and set aside for use on new switch. Unscrew stripped pressure switch.
4. Install fittings but not the gauge on new pressure switch. Thread pressure switch tightly into fitting coming out of the tank.
5. Reconnect all lines to the new check valve and new pressure switch. Push the end of the aluminum unloader tube into the unloader valve tightly then thread the other end into the check valve.
6. Install gauge into new pressure switch.
7. Reconnect wires to the appropriate terminals in the new pressure switch. Replace black plastic housing.
8. Check to make sure it works and nothing leaks.

I had to replace pretty much all the lines connected to the air tank, all of which I ordered from ERepalement. The final item was the check valve which seems to solve the problem. It was great being able to order all the necessary parts from EReplacment to repair my compressor. Thank you!

On my compresser I unscrewed the inlet line from the pump. Then unscrewed the line to the gauges. Unscrewed the check valve on the front of the air tank. I used a 17 mm wrench to screw the new one on. It was really easy to do.
