Product Description
?This safety valve is a genuine replacement part manufactured for use with air compressors. If the compressor's pressure switch malfunctions, and does not turn the motor off when the amount of pressure is met, the safety valve will open to release the extra air pressure. The amount of pressure required to open the safety valve is set by tension of the spring inside the valve. The spring can wear out, and leave the valve open at a lower pressure than what is set to turn the switch off, and will not allow pressure to build inside the tank. This safety valve has a thread sealant pre-applied, so additional thread sealant is not required, the safety valve is sold individually.

Hello Billy, Thank you for your inquiry. This issue is usually caused by the pressure in the air tank falling. This can be caused by an issue with the pressure switch, the safety valve, the valve plate, or the connecting rod. Good luck with your repair.
Hello Dennis, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and we would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the pressure switch, the connecting rod, the safety valve, and the regulator. Good luck with your repair and if you need assistance with placing an order, please do not hesitate to call our customer service, open 7 days a week to help you. We look forward to hearing from you.
Hello Fred, Thank you for your inquiry. The pressure switch is designed to activate the compressor motor at a pre-set pressure, and to de-activate the motor once that pressure has been reached. Common symptoms of a faulty pressure switch include a motor that continues to run (regardless of pressure) until the safety valve opens, or a compressor that simply will not turn on at all. We would also recommend checking the safety valve as well, part# D20114. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
Hello Louis, thank you for asking. We researched the C2002 TYPE 9 and the safety valve is part A17987. For C2002 Type 0 the safety Valve is D20114. So, they are not all the same. We are pleased to have been able to help.
