... Read morealled the new rod after washing out the case with a solvent. The only tricky part was compressing the rings to get the cylinders back on. Since the gaskets were not broken, I used a little gasket sealer on the old gaskets to make sure that they didn\'t leak and bolted the unit back together. The compressor was bolted back onto the tank and put back in operation. I said that the job took more than two hours since it was done in stages. I first took the compressor apart and then ordered parts. After they arrived, I went back to work to put it together.
