This is an authentic Bostitch replacement part manufactured for use with air compressors. The unloader valve relieves compressed air inside the cylinder to enable the pump to restart when the pressure inside the tank drops below the switch setting. A faulty unloader valve may trap compressed air above the piston causing the pump to struggle to restart. This unloader valve is sold as an individual replacement part.
