Waring has manufactured this part for use on one model of coffee maker. This part attaches to the Carafe using two clips. The Lid is made from a high tempter plastic. Over time, this part can become brittle from use. If the Lid has cracked or if the clips have been damaged, then it should be replaced. No tools are needed for this simple instillation.
