This is a genuine OEM replacement lid for your coffee maker's 12 cup carafe. As the carafe is stainless steel, this lid is unique in that it features light tube technology. This feature allows you to see how much coffee is in the carafe. As it fills during the brewing cycle, each light window will turn black which indicates how full your carafe is. As your pour the coffee out of the carafe, the windows will turn clear again. The carafe lid is not dishwasher safe, it can be handwashed in a mixture of mild soap and hot water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool on the carafe itself or the lid.
