1) Remove screws holding the base to the coffeemaker.
2) Remove base.
3) Remove the two screws holding the bracket that secures the heating element to the heating plate.
4) Remove the bracket.
5) Lift up heating element to gain access to the plate.
6) Remove plate.
7) Remove old disintegrating plastic \
... Read more"ring\" and \"seal\" - a large silicone (?) washer that fits between the \"ring\" and the heating \"plate.\"
8) Installed new ring. It was a snug fit, ensure it get fully seated before going further.
9) Install old seal.
10) Install old plate.
11) Set heating element back in place.
12) Install old bracket and screws, being mindful to not pinch any electrical wires.
13) While bottom cover is off, remove any old feet that are still attached.
14) Install new feet by pulling them through holes with pliers while pushing with thumb.
15) Fit bottom cover and install screws.
16) Test the coffeemaker.
