1. Removed cover of coffee maker to see if valve shaft inside was damaged; it wasn\'t
2. Checked to see if end of replacement part fit on valve shaft like it should; it was too tight to fit.
3. Sanded the valve control shaft a small amount until the replacement part fit.

5. Reconnected valve shaft to replacement part through hole in coffee maker cover
6. Turned on coffee maker
7. Used replacement part to turn valve to make coffee.
