There is a video available to watch from eReplacementParts.com - I would recommend watching it. I took all parts that were attached to the generator off - then I removed only the 4 Phillips Head Screws from the generator. You have to open the door in front and reach under where the end of the long bolt is and hold the nut from spinning w hen removing the nut on the end. that was the only hard part. I put the new generator in just the way I took it out - everything works perfect now - no leaks. Remember to take pictures with your phone before removing it so that you will know where everything goes. GOOD LUCK - DALE

Espresso machine generator leaking

Removed plastic panels from machine per video on website.
Removed generator and all connections following video on website (my EAM3400.N Magnifica did not require disconnecting wires from control board making replacement easier than in video)
Replaced generator and hoses with new O-rings (make sure to install new O-rings Ec270 -ápart number 5313217701 to avoid leaks after new generator installed)
Best tip from video was to use Vaseline to hold washer and nut together and on finger tip. Even then, the most difficult part of the repair was getting the nuts back in position. I found that the washers held in place with the Vaseline and then I was able to just fight to get the nut in place on the bolts.

Used video from e Replacement that is on U Tube. The only major difference in my repair compared to the video is in the video, the generator that was installed had some of the wires already on it. the one I received from eReplacement didn\'t have any wires with it. However, this actually made the install easier for me, as I just used the existing wiring that was on the machine and did the connection at the tabs on the generator. My only concern would be that I didn\'t receive any of the thermal compound that is used on the sensor that is on top of the generator. I was a bit concerned that this might have some negative affect on the generator, however, it seams to be performing fine. I was able to use some of the old thermal compound that was attached to the sensor and apparently, that was sufficient. I do think that a small amount of compound should be included with the new generator.

It was very helpful that you had the diagram on the website I knew exactly where the part was located. I had taken my espresso machine to a repair shop, I paid $115.00 for diagnostic, then I was given an additional $385.00 estimate to have the generator replaced including labor. It would have cost me $500.00 to fix it. I decided to take t he machine home and purchased the generator for $79.00 and fixed it myself, IÆm glad I did it works perfect.

Removed the side panels and the top. Marked wire connections as I disconnected. Purchased new o-rings for the water lines. Unscrewed the 4 corner bolts and lifted the old generator out. Put the new generator in place, and reversed the process to secure. The most helpful instructions are found on the eReplacemnt YouTube video with Mark sho wing each step with hints.

I first watched several repairs of similar machines on YouTube to familiarize myself with the disassembly and repair of supper automatic espresso machine. I first thoroughly cleaned machine and all parts to remove coffee debris and grounds. Disassembly was simple only about 10 screws. Removing the steam generator involved removing severa l water supply lines, be careful to not lose O-rings (replace if needed) There were several wires and a heat sensor that needed to be removed then replaced. Everything plugged in easily and replacing the parts was fairly easy. The most difficult part was replacing the bolts holding the steam generator on. That required some grease and a magnetic part picker to hold nut in place. Challenging but not impossible. Patience and a steady hand help. Keep area clean so if you drop any parts you will be able to find them. After reassembly I am now enjoying a fine cup of espresso coffee.

I found an excellent video on this site demonstrating the repair. It was from a very similar model, but the repair instructions were very accurate.
I suggest watching the video a couple times to familiarize yourself with the repairs, and then dive right in.
Good Luck!
