Product Description

?

This is an OEM part from Delonghi. This Gasket is used on many models of Delonghi espresso makers. This Gasket is made from a soft silicone and is used to seal the Water Tank (part number 7313228241) to the water system of the espresso maker. This part should be replaced if water leaks out of the tank when not in use. The Gasket simply slips into place on the water tank. Any small screwdriver can be helpful during removal of the old Gasket and the instillation of the new one.

1. Removed the bottom of the coffee maker to expose all the electrical parts.
2. Disconnected the wiring from the failed thermostat.
3. Removed the thermostat.
4. Removed the heating elements and the wire leads to the thermostat and heating element.
5. Cut off bad piece of wire, installed a new connector.
6. Installed new thermostat.
7. Reinstalled heating element and leads - probably the most difficult task because of the need to clamp heat sensors in the wire-leads onto the heating element.
8. Installed new coffeemaker bottom.
9. Tested the coffeemaker with water.

Slipped the rubber gasket over the pump piston on the bottom of the water tank. Made sure it was seated correctly (no problem). Tested perfectly first time and has worked right ever since.
I purchased the machine in brand new condition at a thrift store, for slightly less than half the usual retail cost. So even after buying the mis sing part and repairing it myself, it is still cost effective and well worth it.
Thank you so much for carrying this part in your inventory! This Delonghi espresso/cappuccino machine makes excellent coffee that I can conveniently enjoy first thing in the morning, in the comfort of my own home.
I plan on sharing eReplacement Parts with all of my friends, because it is so much more economically and socially/environmentally responsible to fix appliances whenever possible, rather than to thoughtlessly toss them in the landfill and buy newer ones every time there is a minor problem.

Removed the old seal/gasket from back/bottom of water tank. Used a standard screwdriver to carefully pry old gasket off. Replaced with new gasket which easily went on with simple pressure and slight twisting. Refilled tank with water and no more leaks. You can feel that the new seal/gasket requires additional force when seating the tank into the machine which assures that you are now getting a better seal.

Removed the gasket and replaced it. Simple

Note: If the tank is leaking when it is pulled out, then it is the little \"red\" gasket on the inside of the tank. In my case it was leaking when connected into the coffee maker.

Pull off old - insert new....

Pay attention to pictures and color - the recommended replacement part for my machine model was black; however, the machine had a chrome knob. Which I ordered from similar model and it worked fine.
