The Spring holds tension on the cutter of the blade. If the blade doesn't move, then this part should be replaced. I took out the older tension spring and put on the new one. Took my pliers and pushed it over the top of the blade so that it can center correctly and so that the ball can fall in the hole perfectly and then adjusted the screw
