Product Description

?

This part is manufactured by Andis. This Hinge Assembly is used on many models of Andis hair clippers. The Hinge Assembly includes the Blade Lock (part number 64537). This part holds the cutting blades into place while cutting hair. If the blade feels loose or won't stay in place, then the Hinge Assembly needs to be replaced. To replace this part two Blade Hinge Screws (27864) will need to be removed. A Philips screwdriver is all that is needed for the replacement of this part.

I had two used Andis clippers I purchased on craigslist a few months ago. I removed screws, opened clippers case; Removed the old parts - cleaned out lint and hair; replaced the old with the new parts; placed case parts together, re-tightened screws plugged in and tested. Fantastic- blades stay in place, cut well and run quiet Woo hoo!

If the hinge spring is broken, you will find that the blade will not be pulled down toward the blade drive. This lack of tension can cause the blade to fall off. Remove 2 screws that hold the hinge on. Make a note of the orientation of the steel spacer under the hinge, then remove and discard the old hinge. Keep the steel spacer in place, and attach the new hinge with 2 screws. Don\'t over-tighten! All done!
