The retaining ring fits between the inner blade washer and the lower blade guard. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and used in Ryobi circular saws. It is made out of metal and is sold individually. If this part becomes bent or broken it will need to be replaced and may require a wrench during the installation.
