The contact plate which holds the prongs was an obsolete part and not available for my tool. However, as Ryobi uses the same battery with all its portable tools, I ordered a \"switch assembly\" for another Ryobi tool, which included a contact plate with the prongs, cut the wires and discarded the trigger switch. I then had to grind on t
... Read morehe new contact plate and, using a Dremel, cut out some plastic in the housing so the contact plate would fit. I then fixed the contact plate in place with plastic epoxy, positioning it with the battery, soldered the tools wires to the contact plate and closed up the housing.
It was more work than I wanted, but I saved a $70 tool at a cost of $10 for the switch assembly.
