The safety cover fits between the spacer and the retaining ring and helps to protect the user from the blade. It is made of metal and is sold individually. This is a genuine Makita replacement part that is sourced from the original manufacturer for use with hypoid saws. If this part breaks it will need to be replaced. A set of pliers and a screwdriver may be needed during the replacement.
