1. Removed the blade
2. Removed the snap ring that holds the blade guard on and the spring.
3. Removed the four base screws
4. Removed the nut that holds the guard handle onto the guard
5. Reverse the process to install the new base

Removed the old shoe replaced with new one. Checked all adjustments, it worked well with only minor adjustments to tensions and widths.
Had to remove the blade to get to the nut that holds the depth adjustment, after that everything went easily.

Removed blade and snap ring on grad and grad stop, take out screw\'s remove height adjustment arm take off guard spring take off shoe then put all back together.

1. Removed rubber stop for guard.
2. While holding guard out of the way removed blade depth adjustment bolt.
3. Removed remaining bolts.
4. Attached new base.

Fastened angle bracket to base plate. Removed broken parts. Reassembled bottom of saw.

Circular saw base was bent

Removed blade. Removed blade shield stop. Removed 4 screws on base from bottom. Removed angle adjustment nut. Over extended blade guard slightly to remove blade angle bolt then removed base and reverse disassembly.

Dropped the saw from stagging ... about 12 feet ... landed on the plastic handle and cracked the motor housing and base plate connection

1. Removed base plate [replacing the plate with this fix .. plate was bent]
2. Removed the blade guard.
3. Removed the \"C\" clip holding in the armature
4. Removed handle screws
5. Removed the 3 screws holding the motor housing together and slid out the housing
6. Removed the wires to the motor brushes ... Read more />7. Removed the stator
[needed to bang the plastic housing squarely on a flat surface ... stator was in very tightly]
8. Then replaced with the new motor housing and reversed the operation

damaged shoe base

online videos were clear about multi-step process. Only real problem came when I removed the retaining ring (which required special tool ($60.) Ring flew off into the recesses of my messy shop! Now I\'m waiting for the new ring ($10 w shipping) to show up.

Either it was the wrong size or there were multiple bearings as this one was smaller than the one I could see so I left the old one in there.

Replacing the shoe base wasnGÇÖt too difficult but the trick is to remove the licking arm the holds the adjusting nut in place. It is done easily with a Phillips screwdriver but it is not obvious that it needs to be removed first.
