This is a genuine Shindaiwa replacement part that has been sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with chainsaws. The piston ring is used to create a seal between the combustion chamber and the crankcase. The seal keeps compression gasses out of the crankcase. Damage to the ring can cause the gasses to enter the crankcase and cause a loss of compression. This item is sold as an individual replacement part.
